Our 2026 Australian Ladies Pipe Band

What’s next?

The Record

๐ŸŽ‰ The world record for the largest ladies pipe band is now 145. Congratulations to all those who took part. You’re now world record holders.

๐Ÿ“œ You can purchase your own copy of the world record certificate at https://theaustralianbookofrecords.com.au/products/the-australian-book-of-records-tabor-certificate. You can add your own name or band name to the certificate.

๐ŸŒ How about we now challenge friends in pipe band communities around the world to come out and beat that record? It all goes to help raise the profile of pipe bands and encourage the involvement of girls and women in bands.

Next steps

During preparations for this event some historical materials have come to light and suggestions made about how our pioneer women can be further recognised. Watch this space, and we’ll be in touch with any future developments. Please contact us if you are interested in assisting with this.

If you have information or media you think would be of value, please add it to the Historical Materials folder [Note 1] accessible via the link below.

Some people have been kind enough to share their stories of a life in pipe bands. These have been collated and are in this folder. Feel free to add your own!

[Note 1]These folders are not curated. Please only add media that is relevant and suitable for viewing by a wide audience. By adding a photo or video you agree that others can download and use as they wish. Google sign-in required.
